Holiday Scrapbook

Consider this a Christmakuh miracle...picture from the holidays already uploaded. I should have made that a resolution for 2013.....uploading pictures quicker. Anywho. Here are a few of my favorites from the holidays. I think you'll notice a distinct difference from the pictures with my trusty point and shoot and my new fancy grown up camera :)

december photos

much, MUCH better than my feeble attempt at my November instagram photos if I do say so myself!

I really need to get better at instagraming my pictures...should have added that to my resolutions!!! Speaking of which..I am totally kicking a$$ on my spending fast. I totally did NOT buy Taylor new boots yesterday (they were $13!) and did not get a new lens for my camera. nope. definitely not here. I was told by And Then We Saved to stock up before the spending fast begins, which I didn't have a chance to do because of the holidays, so I'm just calling the 1st and 2nd days of this year my stock up days. I'm done. Promise.

I was thinking too that I didn't really come up with any household to do's for this year. I do want to paint the bathroom and need to rearrange the bedroom. Also really want to get some new art for the living room and above the dining room table.  I have a few ideas (where the heck did I put those snapstagram photos I got right before X-Mas???) and will DIY both projects, so that way I can stay within my spend fast!!

okay, so back to my photo's from last month. I think my favorite is the one of Taylor taking a picture. She does this all the time. I actually have a few on my real camera of her taking pictures of things like her rocking horse and princess tent.  Everytime I try to get her to hold it the right way she just turns in around. Silly thing.

You may also notice some pretty kick a$$ hats going on up in here. The cabbage patch hat is from Kelly. I told Taylor it's a princess hat so she's all about wearing it.  The other amazing hats we have are from my cousin Kaitlin. Seriously, this girl can knit. Like, I have no idea why she doesn't have an etsy shop yet.  The hat Jackson has on is a Christmas Tree with lights. LIGHTS!!!  It's a little big but I love that because we can definitely use it for the next few years. It's all packed up with my Christmas stuff so I know where to find it for next year. So awesome.

Lot's of fun stuff coming this month too!! One day (soon I hope) Liss will reveal more of her nursery projects! I will figure out my camera and become and instant professional photographer, and I may or may not be turning another year older. Let's do this January!

I survived Christmas!!!!

huzzah!! Christmas is over!!! It is summer yet? All I want to do is to go to Rhode Island and play in the sand...

But, before I do that there is LOTS and LOTS to catch up on. Christmas was awesome and there will be lots of fun photos to come. The kids were pumped and loved all of their gifts, but I got the best gift of all. For reals. A REAL GROWN UP DSLR CAMERA!! I can not even tell you. I have wanted one since I had Jackson.  My parents, sister & brother in law and aunt and uncle all pitched in and got me a Nikon DS3100.  I have taken 257 photos with it so far and two of them are great. HA! Needless to say, I'll be reading The Pioneer Woman's photography tutorials for the next century so I can figure this baby out.

So, here we are, the final day of 2012. I am so BRING IT ON for 2013. Really, I'm pumped. Lots I want to do this coming year and accomplish.  So, in the spirit of getting things done, here is my "to do" list for 2013.

Yeah...so I don't have anything for October yet. Perhaps that will be my month of rest.

So, as you can see January is the money diet.  I stumbled across that over here at Happy Simple Living.  Then in some other internet adventures I found this site and was like.. YESSSS!!!!  So, I have a bunch more to share about how I'll be doing the diet using all the fun tips/tricks from And Then We Saved, but you'll have to wait for that until next year. Okay, I have to go shopping now before I'm cut off for a while ;)

Hope you all had a wonderful holiday!! See you in 2013!!!!

dear santa

Dear Santa,

It's been a while. How are you? I hope things aren't too crazy up in the North Pole.  As i'm sure you are well aware, I've been relatively good this year. While "relatively good" doesn't usually cut it for what I'm asking for this Christmas, I have been extremely good at one thing:  making sure my kids believe. Yesiree, I have two VERY excited, VERY "I believe" children at home.  In fact, my 4 year old starts asking about Christmas in February, and I'm sure it has nothing to do with presents. Really.

Also, it's snowing on my blog..so I should get points for that.

I feel that ensuring that the next generation of kids doesn't scoff at the idea of the magic of Christmas and Santa Claus is very important. And, as I have managed to do such an amazing job of this, I feel it is only fitting that I deserve the gift below.

Now, it doesn't have to be this EXACT house, but here is my wishlist:
-4 bedrooms
-2 baths
-play room
-finished basement
-deck
-fenced in yard
-fireplace (duh!)

Also, I realize a house doesn't fit under my tree, so a box with keys and the address will suffice.

Thank you in advance!

Holiday Photo Shoot

it's Monday, and while I had a very exciting weekend I will share with you later all about that.  Instead of a deeply meaningful blog post, I will just throw a bunch of pictures of my kids from their photo shoot with Allison over at Twice As Nice Photography.
:)
